With Birthday month behind me, I’ve been doing the same ole same ole and trying to get back into a daily routine. Which consists of running, barre classes, working, exploring, and eating all around Austin. I have a marathon in a few weeks so I’ve knocked out a few long runs this month. It’s been pretty cold lately (for Texas) but that hasn’t stopped my running and long runs lead to tons of eating!
I recently had dinner at new restaurant in town called Gardner. It was amazing. The food was creative, thoughtful, and comforting. I highly recommend checking it out if you’re in the area. Also, the interior design is stunning. See my post on the designer here. To keep on the eating trend, I had a lovely brunch at Odd Duck with my co-worker Jamy of Fourth Street. We have been meaning to get together forever but just haven’t had the time. We finally made it happen and the food was delish! Check out her blog here.
In the last couple of weeks I also hit up Hops & Grain brewery with some of my favorite Texas ladies. It’s always nice to have a chill beer or two and gush about life, boys, and work. Not to mention, that the brewery makes me feel like I’m back in Colorado. It was so refreshing and made me feel at home.
Last weekend after my long run, I spent the day with friends exploring E.A.S.T (East Austin Studio Tour). There were so many great artists showing their work! It was a bit overwhelming but the good news is that it is still going on this weekend. So, if you are in the area be sure to check it out! My favorite find was Diana Presley Greenberg. I fell in love with her work. You can be sure that my next fine art purchase will be from her.
I hope y’all are doing well and enjoying the simple pleasures of good food and great company.
