Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Right now I’m probably hiking up Emory Peak out or just sipping coffee in front of the tent with my sister at our campsite in Big Bend National Park. That alone makes me so thankful!
Exactly a year ago, I was visiting Texas for the first time ever. My sister had just moved to San Antonio and we had a lovely Thanksgiving in her new home. Never would I have imagined that a year later I too would be living in Texas and celebrating another Thanksgiving in the South.
This year however, my sister and I are spending the week playing around west Texas. We are spending a few days in Terlingua, Big Bend, and Marfa, I’m sure it will prove to be another great thanksgiving. While were aren’t spending this holiday with the rest of our family you can be sure that we are thinking about them constantly. I am so thankful for many things and my family tops the list. I cannot wait to see them for Christmas!
Also on the list of things I’m thankful for are all of my experiences in Texas. I can’t even begin to tell you how kind this place has been to me. I’m thankful for everyone who has been so welcoming and helped me make this town feel like home.
I hope you all are having a lovely holiday! Enjoy your loved ones and be thankful for everything around you. Things can always be better but they can also get worse. Take a deep breath, smile, and enjoy the day!
P.S. Someone please eat some pumpkin pie for me!
