Travel: San Francisco

Here's my Bay Area recap! I went out to San Fran for a week to help an internal team at IBM create a product video. While I was out there, I made sure to pack my free time with lots of food and sightseeing since it was my first time out there. Above and below are a few images from my favorite place.

My favorite restaurant was the Liholiho Yacht Club. They had a curry clam dish that was to die for. It was paired with naan that practically melted in your mouth. It was totally worth the hour wait. The space was pretty narrow and cozy.

As for coffee, I was able to sample a few of the local favorites. Sightglass stole my heart. Their space was massive since they do most of their roasting in that location. I spent the morning sipping coffee, eating a savory scone and watching the roasters work their magic.

Aside from eating, I played the tourist card pretty hard. I snuck away to see the Painted Ladies and Chinatown. On our last day in town, we made the trek out to the Golden Gate Bridge. If you've never been, you should certainly go out of your way to see it. The bridge was built in 1933 and the scale of the beast will blow your mind.

In hindsight, I was a little overly ambitious with all of the things I did. When I returned to Austin, I was very sick for over a week with bronchitis. I think it was a combination of exhaustion and the colder weather that made me get sick. Next time I'll come loaded with a bigger jacket and take each day at a slower pace!
